In the late 1920's, Joseph Pilates devised a series of controlled exercises engaging both mind and body. The method of movement, later coined "Pilates", incorporates the entire body in a series of exercises based on promoting strength and flexibility. Pilates focuses on developing the core muscles of the abdomen, or "powerhouse", which not only strengthen the spine, but also free the rest of the body, enabling greater mobility throughout. This effective method creates long, lean, balanced muscles without the bulk. Enhanced coordination, gained stamina, improved posture and increased body awareness is achieved through Pilates.
"In ten sessions, you'll feel the difference, in twenty you'll see the difference, and in thirty you'll have a new body." - Joseph Pilates
